Home Presentation Tips to Show Your House in Its Best Light

September 17th, 2011

When it comes to selling your home, as the old saying goes, you don’t get a second chance to make a good impression. Home presentation tips are available for you all across the internet, but we’ve got our own sense of what is and is not most important when it comes to selling your house. If you’re serious about making the sale, then these home presentation tips should help you to make it more attractive to your buyers.

Clean it up – None of the other home presentation tips we give are going to be helpful to you if the house you’re trying to sell is cluttered and unsightly. Top of the list, make your dwelling clean and neat. There is nothing wrong with a few toys lying around, or a few magazines on your table, but a sink full of dirty dishes doesn’t scream “buy me” to anyone.

Internal presentation – If you’re having an open house, or just having people in to look at the home, don’t arrange the rooms around the television. Consider what will give buyers the clearest path and the best way to move through the house. Having all the seating facing the television or for playing those Wii games may not be the best layout plan for the living areas. » Read more: Home Presentation Tips to Show Your House in Its Best Light

Home Staging – Very Important in Selling Your Home

September 17th, 2011

Everyone loves attractive, appealing looking things. The same goes for looking at a home to buy. But does this mean that you have to spend vast amounts of money on redecorating your home just to sell it?

Selling a home is a bit like setting up a stage for a production. You need to make sure that everything is in its right place, that everything is neat and tidy as well as being clean and aesthetically pleasing. Make sure that any necessary repairs are done before you put it on the market. Imaginative placement of furniture is also an important aspect of making a home look enchanting.

Not everyone can afford to redecorate a home or have expensive furniture, so it also depends on what kind of market you are aiming for. A good paint job can do wonders to change the way a home looks and feels. If there are children in the home, make sure their bedrooms are neat and tidy and the decor looks attractive for a child’s room.

Bathrooms should be neat and tidy and free of grime and of course smelling fresh and clutter free. Shower doors should be clean and free from lime and other stains. Fresh towels in the bathroom are always a good idea. » Read more: Home Staging – Very Important in Selling Your Home

5 Reasons Why Home Staging Is a Great Home-Based Business

September 17th, 2011

There are many reasons why staging is a great start up business but the following are, in my opinion, the top five reasons why.

1. It’s a low-cost business to start. There’s very little in the way of overhead expenses with a staging business. You can work from your own home office and you don’t need to worry about carrying a warehouse full of inventory or investing in any fancy equipment. You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on expensive print advertising because it doesn’t work for a small staging business anyway!

2. It offers high earning potential. As a home stager you have the potential to earn a six-figure salary if you price your services properly. Because homeowners stand to make a significant profit on the investment they make in a professional stager, they will spend hundreds of dollars on your services. It’s up to you to ensure you’re not undervaluing your time and the talent you have to bring to the table.

3. You get to make your own schedule. If you’re looking for a career that you can easily juggle around your family or a full-time job, home staging is a good choice. If you can only work during the day while children are at school then set your appointments accordingly. If you prefer to be at home for your family during the day and work during the weekends or early evenings then that’s up to you! » Read more: 5 Reasons Why Home Staging Is a Great Home-Based Business
